RADICATED RETROSPECTIVE: [rooted:established art for academia]
Offers the work of:
Late Professor TOM WYROBA + wife Dr. STACEY MANCUSO
A digital installment of this exclusive exhibition, New World School of the Arts (NWSA) has partnered with Design and Architecture Senior High (DASH) in Radicated Retrospective Digital: (rooted:established art for academia). The was exhibit conceived years ago by the husband-and-wife-team Dr. Stacey Mancuso, former Principal of DASH, and her late husband Tom Wyroba, NWSA visual arts professor to raise funds for both institutions by offering guests the unique opportunity to purchase original artwork at an affordable price. Most of the 200 art pieces, regardless of the size, will be available for a $50 donation and the proceeds will be used to continue funding the Scholarship Fund, benefiting both schools equally, through scholarships to the New World School of the Arts visual arts college program.
"The work is bitter-sweet... we miss Tom so much," said Maggy Cuesta, former NWSA Dean of Visual Arts. "Tom Wyroba gave so much of himself to every student that passed through his classroom - not only was he an admirable artist and educator, but he gave the best of himself to his students by supporting and promoting their talent and looking for ways to help them achieve their higher education goals. When he and Stacey first proposed the first Radicated Retrospective fundraising exhibition in 2010, we were thrilled with the opportunity it would offer students from NWSA and DASH who wanted to continue their art education in our visual arts college program. This second iteration of the show has taken a more meaningful form. The funds raised from the sale of Tom and Stacey's work will not only continue to offer a viable financial opportunity for students' education, but Tom's legacy will continue to thrive through future students that has received the scholarship.”
